Mr. Tipton, who is responsible for the overall global growth and development of the Plan Ahead Events franchise brand, is due to speak on “The Start-up Mandate: Starting on Your Own v/s Taking a Franchise”. The UFG is a $500m franchising giant, with more than 1400 franchise locations in over 50 countries.
Andrew Withers, Managing Director and owner of Southern Fried Chicken (SFC), the global fastfood chain with 700 outlets in 70 countries, will address the summit on “Building an Overseas Brand: Sustaining, Supporting it and Making it a Success.”
Mr. Withers, who took over the SFC empire in 1998 founded by his father in 1979, is now overseeing the brand’s rapid expansion into international markets – the latest being its entry into the Indian market. SFC already has 24 outlets in the UAE.
Among the local speakers, Jassem Mohammed Hassan AlBloushi, Chairman of Sharjah Tatweer Forum, will shed light on the growing importance of SMEs and the way forward for entrepreneurs who want to make it big in business. Mr. Al Bloushi is the Senior Vice President, Head of the Retail Banking Group of Sharjah Islamic Bank (SIB) and Board Member of Sharjah Islamic Financial Services.
