Jordanian Free Zones Corporation has undertaken the venture in order to promote itself globally and to publicise its unique advantages to companies wishing to trade in the region. Free zones are considered a key government tool for development in Jordan, with special laws and regulations applied differently from those applied in the remaining parts of the state, with exemptions and facilities qualifying it to be an investment attraction area and developing the export industries and international trade exchange.
“The objective of the Jordanian Free Zones Corporation is to attract local and foreign capital, to introduce technology and technical skills to the people in Jordan, to activate the transport sectors and other service sectors, and to support the national economy in order to bolster the balance of payments,” said Mr Ali Madadha, Director General of Jordanian Free Zones Corporation.
The partnership will give Jordanian Free Zones Corporation access to promote themselves to 32,000 companies via a weekly email newsletter, as well as via a project website. The project will be geared around a bi-annual review to be published in February, which will comprehensively cover all issues and developments within the free zone arena, and advocate free trade opportunities, export promotion and international business development.
“We are delighted that the Jordanian Free Zones Corporation has the foresight and initiative to promote Jordan on the world stage, to attract foreign investment, generate foreign exchange earnings and employment” said John Glassey, FZI Marketing Director. “Multinationals looking at investment opportunities in the Middle East will see many benefits that the country has to offer and I strongly recommend interested parties to contact us immediately.”
