United Arab Emirates: Sunday, January 03 - 2010 @ 15:10

Since 1860, Frette has supplied linens to prestigious public and private residences in Italy and globally; as well as royal courts, embassies and government residences, along with world leading hotels including the Ritz, Paris and Cipriani in Venice and most recently in L’Aquila, Italy, the G8 Summit world leader’s accommodation with personalized hand embroidered sheets.

Pieces created by the House of Frette included the Tablecloth of the Holy Virgin for the altar at Saint Peter’s Cathedral in Rome, and its table linens were used in the banqueting rooms on board the Titanic, and are still used aboard the Orient Express today.

Originally established in Grenoble, France, the company became official purveyors to the Italian Royal Family in 1881. While Frette was already established in world markets such as Japan, the UK, China, South Africa, and continental Europe, it was vital that in the Gulf, the brand was clearly positioned and represented as evidenced by its presence in high quality retail environments including Wafi, Dubai. Frette’s product line includes a haute couture line made of the finest materials including minks and inclusion of a specially created technique for the creation of 24 carat gold covered threats, exclusive yacht collection of beach towels, accessories along with sleep wear.

Frette, the global luxury linen brand has preserved its historical heritage through the creation of a contemporary limited edition bed set in honor of its 150 years of creating the finest linens in the world.

The unique “150 Anniversario edition” is presented in two models; The Gala and Gioia collections.

These limited edition sets are presented in a special antique ivory color box with “F” in relief and with a hot gold stamped frame, with the design depicted taken from the historical document that inspired the collection.

Malek Loeb, Managing Partner of EF Gulf which handles Frette retail in the UAE, said:

“We are delighted to have been appointed as the exclusive representative partner to such an exclusive and prestigious, historically based world brand – Frette – here in the UAE. We believe our market represents a high potential with a strong clientele base that truly appreciates the finer things in life.”

Unique, haute couture pieces especially commissioned and created by local fashion students from Preston University in Ajman, who used solely the company’s fine textiles, were showcased at the evening’s fashion event at the Burj Al Arab, where Frette presented its sleep wear collection.

The models at the event also wore fine jewellery by designers such as Verdi Gioielli, Mario Buzzanca, Casato Roma, Zoccai, and Elke Berr Geneve, all kindly provided by Arts and Gems in Dubai.
