Europe’s sixth largest manufacturer of personal computers, Netherlands- headquartered NEC CI, supplies the consumer market with the Packard Bell brand, one of Europe’s home PC leaders, and the business market with the NEC brand.

“NEC CI’s dedication to develop a corporate reseller channel coupled with FRONTIERS’ regional know-how and expertise on sales, channel management and brand development will secure maximum possible penetration in the Middle East, and a significant increase in NEC CI’s market share,” said Lenia Iacovides, FRONTIERS Managing Director, who previously ran the SEMEA operations of Gateway, one of the USA’s leading PC manufacturers.

Working under the umbrella of NEC’s international operations team in Angers, FRONTIERS will manage the overall regional business management of NEC CI, which includes Africa, the Mediterranean and the Balkans.

“We will seek to recruit new quality channel partners and we will be responsible for the development and management of the channel, as well as offering sales, bids and tenders and local marketing support,” said Iacovides.

NEC and Packard Bell server, storage and desktop solutions are designed and produced in Europe, at NEC CI plant in Angers, France and in Livingston, Scotland. NEC and Packard Bell notebooks production with CTO and testing capabilities is also performed in Europe. The yearly production capacity is about 3.1 million units and the company employs 3,000 people world-wide.

“The addition of FRONTIERS is a major delineation step towards our strategy to extend our sales force in the respective regions. We are convinced that 2002, via a joint voyage of opportunity and prospect exploration, will bring a new world of professional achievement and growth. We are certain that with FRONTIERS’ expertise, we will develop a corporate reseller channel and achieve the highest possible penetration in the region and a significant increase of our market share”, said Michel de Bievre, Executive Director – International Division – NEC CI.
