IT managers and decision-makers were briefed on the solution by FSC executives as well as by experts from Microsoft as it is based on Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, Legato which supplies the software for backup and archiving and EMC which supplies the storage solution.
Addressing the seminar, Jurgen Heidegger, Director, Marketing Enterprise Products, FSC, explained the benefits of easyXchange, including increased application and data availability, reduced backup and recovery times, increased productivity, ability to meet legal requirements for email retention and establishing a flexible mail infrastructure to support enhanced exchange functionalities.

Heidegger highlighted the success attained by Fujitsu Siemens Computers when it first tried out easyXchange as part of a consolidation project to redevelop an internal Exchange infrastructure. The company estimated overall cost savings of about 30 percent, as a result of the deployment of easyXchange solution.
The well-attended seminar effectively highlighted easyXchange as a complete pre-tested infrastructure solution supporting all aspects of mail server and storage consolidation projects. The solution combines pre-designed hardware and software in flexible building blocks of exchange server infrastructure, automated backup and full information lifecycle management with archiving.
