When Abu Dhabi Retirement Pensions and Benefits Fund (The Fund) learned of this shocking statistic it immediately pledged its support to the International Labour Organisation’s (ILO) upcoming World Day for Safety and Health at Work. On 28th April 2007 safety in the workplace will receive global attention in a bid to increase awareness of the issue of health and safety at work and drive down incidences of work related injuries.
The Fund urges all participating entities to support the ILO’s World Day for Safety and Heath at Work initiative by focusing on employee welfare. This can be achieved by reviewing existing Health and Safety policies and procedures and ensuring that protective equipment is adequately provided and maintained.
A member of the International Social Security Association (ISSA), Abu Dhabi Retirement Pensions and Benefits Fund is a leading local provider of pensions and related social security benefits, including enhanced benefits payable on death and injury through work related accidents.
The Fund’s Director General, Mubarak Al Mansouri said “apart from the obvious ethical merits of marking the International Labour Organisation (ILO) World Day for Safety and Health at Work by improving conditions and welfare for employees, we all have a wider corporate responsibility to ensure that our country’s workforce enjoys longevity through-out employment so that a rewarding and lasting retirement can be enjoyed too”.
The International Social Security Association (ISSA) is an international organization which essentially brings together institutions and administrative bodies dealing with one or more aspects of social security in different countries of the world, namely all forms of compulsory social protections which, by virtue of legislation or national practice, are an integral part of the social security system of these countries.
The Abu Dhabi Retirement Pensions & Benefits Fund (Fund) was established pursuant to Law No. 2 of year 2000, with a vision to become a leading regional provider of civil retirement pensions and benefits for UAE nationals employed in the government, semi-government and private sectors. The Fund’s mission is to offer UAE nationals who have worked in Abu Dhabi – or for entities incorporated in Abu Dhabi but operating in other Emirates – a secure future and a stable retirement through the sound management and investment of future pensions and retirement benefits in a client-focused and a cost-effective environment.
