New store added to i2′s growing property portfolio

United Arab Emirates: Sunday, October 15 - 2006 @ 11:00

Its launch marks i2’s latest venture following a string of recent openings, designed to enhance its burgeoning property portfolio.

The simultaneous opening of four outlets in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia last month is part of I2’s aggressive expansion strategy to boost their retail network within the 20 countries they currently operate in. “Within the next fiscal year we will not only strengthen our retail network across the region, but also penetrate new markets. Within the UAE, i2’s role as a retailer is becoming more widely known which is why we wanted to reinvigorate our retail concept, starting with our new outlet on Shiekh Zayed Road” explained Yasser Zaidan, Executive Vice President, i2.

I2’s retail presence is extremely strong in many parts of the region, particularly the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where Saudi residents have the choice to shop at more than 111 i2 outlets. With the added benefit of the i2 café, a unique concept introduced to the market in June, i2 is making every effort to cater for its customers’ needs.

“We have already invested a great deal in our promotional activities, tie ups and other value added services and this is just the start of a much bigger plan. We believe that opening our first stand alone outlet in such a prime location, will give our customers even greater choice and much better access to those existing benefits,”

explained Jihad El Eit, VP Marketing, i2.

Those visiting the new store will enjoy a wide selection of the latest mobile phones and accessories. The new i2 store will have consultants to help customers with their technical needs. Customers can also request i2 club to be incorporated into their mobile packages, and get a free copy of i2 magazine.

Currently, i2’s retail network in the UAE consists of stand-alone stores on Naif Road, Airport Road, Dubai Internet City (Nokia Building), Dubai Media City (CNN Building), American University of Dubai and store-in-store shops in CompuMe Garhoud and Mall of the Emirates.
