STALCO steers operation on Orion

United Arab Emirates: Saturday, June 14 - 2003 @ 10:31

With Orion, STALCO will enjoy the benefits of having a fully integrated single platform solution, deployed across the company’s IT infrastructure. The Orion implementation will take place at STALCO’s headquarters in Dubai and is scheduled to go live in six months.

The selected Orion solution represents a complete integrated financial and operational solution which will provide STALCO with online access to enterprise information, across its six main operating divisions – Shipping, International Freight Forwarding, Exhibitions handling, Air Cargo, Travel & Tourism and Real Estate – allowing in-depth business analysis, enhanced forecasting capability and overall cost reduction, a direct result of increased performance levels. STALCO recognized the need for such a robust enterprise business solution to achieve success in the face of a constantly challenging business environment and complex customer requirements.

“We were looking for an advanced ERP solution made in the region for the region, with proven capabilities. The Orion solution matched our criteria perfectly, and met our specific business requirements for a completely integrated, flexible and scalable online solution,” said Captian Mansour, Chief Executive Officer, STALCO. “We also have the added comfort of a responsive ICICI Infotech team, who possess the necessary experience in the market, coupled with specific expertise in providing enterprise business solutions to companies in the same line of business.”

Orion will enable STALCO to streamline their business processes, enhance their ability to manage and monitor work-in-progress and estimate cost of projects which can span over several years. Orion is highly scalable and easily adaptable to next generation technologies, ensuring that the usage of the application grows with the growth of the business, eliminating the need for huge investments in IT upgrades. Orion also provides a new unique interactive ‘publish and subscribe mechanism’ that brings reports to the user at the pre-specified time and does not require the user to ask for reports each time.

“Orion is strategically placed to effectively service STALCO group’s diverse business requirements,” said Hari Padmanabhan, President, ICICI Infotech MEA. “We strongly believe that Orion will help navigate STALCO to greater heights, steering them to meet and supercede their business objectives by providing them with the necessary tools to simplify and make their business processes more effective.”

Orion has an installed base in more than 26 countries, making it a truly global ERP solution.
