The nation-wide awards programme will liven up Qatar’s hospitality scene, say organizers.
Co-organized by Qatar’s only hospitality tradeshow, Diyafa, the Qatar Choice Awards are open to the public for online nominations and voting from August 16 with an awards night and gala dinner to be concurrently with Diyafa 2012 on October 10 at Al Gassar Resort.
The run-up to the QCA Gala Dinner night will be an exciting time for Qatar’s public as they nominate and vote Qatar’s best service providers using social media channels.
Covering a wide of services within the hospitality sector, the Qatar Choice Awards will feature Qatar’s residents handing out prizes and awards to hospitality providers who have shown excellent service standards.
From hotels to restaurants, from DJs to nightlife hotspots- the Qatar Choice Awards promises to create a buzz on social media and kick start a competition that is both fierce and ultimately, invaluable to consumers.
Khalifa Saleh Al Haroon, Founder and CEO of ILoveQatar.net – co-organizer of the Qatar Choice Awards, says that, “There is nothing like this awards programme in Qatar, and this country’s hospitality industry is booming. The Qatar Choice Awards are designed to recognize hospitality professional and outlets that are leading the pack in Qatar.”
The Qatar Choice Awards are co-organized by Diyafa Qatar’s only dedicated event hospitality industry event, Qatar Happening (QH) magazine, Al Isteklal (IAC Qatar), Premium Projects, and Al Gassar Resort.
Qatar Happening’s Sales and Communications’ manager, Jorge Granda, notes that Qatar is a buzzing scene of activity these days: “There is, quite simply, a lot happening in Qatar, and the hospitality industry is best-suited to take full advantage of the years to come. Every type of event, conference, tourist group, or businessman is looking for best-of-breed hospitality-services providers.”
Premium Projects’ MD and creative director, Chris Van Kamp, states that, “In this booming scenario, an awards programme like the Qatar Choice Awards becomes an invaluable resource both for those voting and checking out the results, and for those who are being judged.”
IFP Qatar’s Sarah Mroueh – Lead Project Manager at Diyafa (running October 16-18) and the Qatar Choice Awards – points to the substantial use of social media to express opinions in Qatar as a perfect platform for evaluating the country’s hospitality service providers.
She adds that, “The Qatar Choice Awards are an opportunity for the public to give feedback, in an interactive manner, on an open platform… and at the QCA, no one but the public has a say in what the results are. That is a powerful combination- and we believe Qatar’s residents are ready for it.”
“The Qatar Choice Awards website will be the destination for Qatar’s residents in the months to come,” she says.
