“Our interns are given practical experiences and challenges from day one. We aim for a very steep learning curve, and aim for the interns to be fully integrated within the organisation within the seven weeks they are here. We are an organisation that is experiencing great growth and attracting and retaining talent is key for our business success.” said Mr. Khalid Halaweh, Country Manager of iHorizons.
The internship sees the students working within the Sales and Business Development department of the company, giving the interns challenges from day one in facing highly skilled clients throughout the region. Students are mentored throughout the seven weeks of the programme, ensuring that the interns are comfortable in all aspects of iHorizons business operations.
The interns are full of praise of the program, highlighting the level of responsibility given to them from an early stage.
“What better place to gain valuable work experience as well as knowledge about how Qatar’s leading IT company are working towards regional expansion. Getting the opportunity to be a part of a relatively small company, means that everyone knows what you are working on and how you perform, said intern Omar Alouba.
iHorizons prides itself of being a highly innovative company and these internships are yet another example of their organisational leadership and the introduction of new ideas to benefit the business and Qatar. As part of the Planning Council’s Knowledge Based Economy Initiative iHorizons are focused on creating a workforce that is dynamic, innovative and able to work in the current and future economic environment.
