IHS and Quadrem announce business development alliance for IHS parts management and data cleansing services

Saudi Arabia: Sunday, May 21 - 2006 @ 10:17

The IHS and Quadrem alliance enables companies in process industries – including mining, minerals, metals, utilities, oil & gas, food and beverage, and pharmaceuticals – to utilize standardized parts data to maximize their supply chain efficiencies, from inventory to sourcing to procurement.

“We believe our partnership with IHS Intermat Solutions augments our strong offerings in the area of Content and Cataloguing Services and enables us to add more value to our community of suppliers and buyers in the Middle East. This new functionality will also help our customers to extract maximum value from their existing investments in ERP and EAM systems,”

said Leo van Rensburg, general manager of Quadrem’s Middle Eastern business.

The IHS Intermat Solutions business unit will deliver data cleansing and standardization services to Quadrem in order to help Quadrem customers manage their assets with accurate and consistent parts data. IHS Intermat Solutions specializes in identifying a wide variety of indirect (industrial MRO) materials, including pipes, valves, seals, bearings, supplies and related plant equipment. Quadrem’s eMarketplace initiatives bring together companies and thousands of suppliers to simplify the procurement process needed to keep supplies flowing to tens of thousands of employees in hundreds of remote locations.

“This alliance fills a high-priority need by providing local access to a proven data standardization and procurement optimization offering. As a result, customers can extract more value from their EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) systems in the form of duplicate parts rationalization, improved strategic sourcing and elimination of false stock-outs,” said Bert Turner, senior director, IHS Intermat Solutions. “IHS and Quadrem have well-earned reputations for helping companies effectively solve their technical content creation and parts management challenges. Customers will also benefit from the collective deep industry expertise and best practices that IHS and Quadrem possess. Through this alliance with IHS, Quadrem clients will have access to the best parts standardization services in the world.”
