The launching ceremony was held under the patronage of Mrs. Maha Al Khateeb, Minister of Tourism, and attended by media representatives.
Ijazza is considered to be the first comprehensive electronic guidebook in Jordan which provides information about places of tourist attraction, leisure activities, historical sites, cafes, malls, hotels, restaurants, and many other places.
The guidebook can be accessed from any mobile phone and it is available for residents and visitors of the country alike. Mobile users will need to download Ijazza software onto their mobile phones through the internet browser in order to activate the service.
“I am very glad to announce today the launching of Ijazza in the Jordanian market. We have put the final touches to have this new technology and service ready and available for all mobile users. I would like to extend my deep appreciation to the Ministry of Tourism for sponsoring this ceremony” Mr. Ahmad Taba’a, Ijazza CEO said.
“The launching of Ijazza is a groundbreaking step in that it brings the latest technology in telecommunications to Jordan, which will facilitate the way information about places is accessed and obtained”. Mr. Taba’a added.
Ijazza Marketing Manager, Mr. Karim Zoubi commented on the importance of this service “The comprehensive guidebook will act as a tool for promoting Jordan as a tourist destination and it will increase the competitiveness of Jordanian businesses. The high quality standards which govern the guidebook ensure that it will be a preferable method of advertising. On the other hand, we will have continuous development and update of the information and products included in the guidebook.”
Ijazza guidebook will provide users with full details about exciting activities and places they want to visit accompanied by pictures, contact details, and maps to locate them.
