IMarEST supports Seatrade Middle East show

United Arab Emirates: Saturday, September 04 - 2010 @ 10:28

As the leading international membership body and learned society for marine professionals, with over 15,000 members worldwide, IMarEST, with its vision of ‘a world where marine resources and activities are sustained, managed and developed for the benefit of humanity’, has a strong international membership with an extensive marine network of 50 national and international branches.

These include the Middle East Division with its active branches in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates and Egypt. It also has affiliations with major marine societies around the world, representation on the key marine technical committees and non-governmental status at the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

“We can deal with members’ enquiries on the stand, and encourage them to bring a friend or colleague with them to sign up, but most of all we enjoy the opportunity of renewing acquaintances with our members. Naturally, visitors can pick up the latest copies of MER, Shipping World and Shipbuilder, and Maritime IT and Electronics from the stand. Our special Seatrade Middle East ‘show offers’ encompass membership, publication and Marine Partner proposals. New members signing up at the show as a Corporate Member (Member or Fellow) will benefit from having their assessment fee waived, while those making the decision to become Marine Partners will benefit from a free web banner online for a month (worth £1800),”

says Samantha Dawkins, IMarEST’s Manager, Marine Partners and Exhibitions.

“Our publications department has also put together some unmissable offers including a 50% discount on annual MER and Shipping World and Shipbuilder subscriptions. We will also be running a particularly beneficial offer on IMarEST books – visitors to the stand will earn a 30% discount on any IMarEST books,” she adds.

“This offer is open to members and non-members alike, and far exceeds the more usual 20% offer available to members. Naturally too visitors to the stand can pick up the latest issue of MER, Shipping World and Shipbuilder, and Maritime IT & Electronics,” Samantha adds

IMarEST has a busy calendar of events for Autumn 2010 with conferences on ‘Condition Based Maintenance’; ‘Ship Powering Alternatives’; and ‘Ship Noise and Vibration’, as well as evening meetings and lectures with compelling speakers.
