A blended learning program that combines distance learning with short intensive modules, AEDP is one of IMD’s top management executive education programs. The program, one of the pathways to IMD’s prestigious Executive MBA program, is known for its diversity in terms of both industry and nationality. This year 24 participants representing 11 different countries and four continents will take part in the program.
“The goal of AEDP is to boost participants’ personal leadership skills and expose them to issues in emerging economies,” stated IMD Professor Leif M. Sjöblom, AEDP Program Director. “A vibrant economy such as Dubai is the perfect backdrop for the executives in the program to explore the dilemmas and challenges of leading change and implementing strategies.”
As part of the program session in Dubai, the participants will meet with leading companies such as Dubai Ports. They will also take part in a session with IMD Executive Director Dr. Hischam El-Agamy on scenario planning which will outline the future prospects of the region for the executives taking part in the program.
“Dubai and Abu Dhabi are leaders in developing new dynamics which are stimulating growth in the region,” he said. “Companies such as Dubai Aluminum and Dubai Ports are global leaders and have developed very efficient expansion plans based on innovation strategies and unique value propositions. Masdar in Abu Dhabi is a unique platform for developing renewable energy for a very ambitious future. I believe that we can learn much from such experiences and gain better understanding about the driving forces that will shape the business landscape in the region.”
After Dubai, the participants will head to Nairobi, Kenya as part of the second module of the program which will focus on social investments and its impact in stimulating the economy.
