Saudi Arabia: Thursday, June 27 - 2013 @ 12:29

The solution is expected to enhance quality of care and productivity for the hospital, through facilitating open shifts to be filled more quickly, matching skills to assignments more thoroughly, and lowering labor costs.

News points

• In order to improve visibility of scheduled versus work time, and expedite schedule creation, King Fahad Medical City decided to invest in a workforce scheduling application that would automate processes and provide real-time notifications to quickly fill open shifts.
• Infor WFM was selected based on its highly specialized capabilities focused on the healthcare sector, as well as the local skills and support of Dubai-based consultancy and Infor partner, E3.
• Supporting 2500 users at the hospital, Infor WFM now enables King Fahad Medical City to adjust staffing more quickly in line with demand, so that staff qualifications, proficiencies, certifications and licenses are more properly matched to the assignment.
• The accuracy and visibility afforded by Infor WFM helps improve employee and patient satisfaction, while reducing risk and enhancing compliance measures.

“We continuously strive to deliver the highest quality care at the lowest possible cost and in our quest to improve both employee productivity and satisfaction, we simply couldn’t sustain our manual scheduling system,” comments Dr. Khalid Alodhaibi, Executive Director for Health Informatics and Information Technology (HIIT), KFMC. “Infor WFM enables us to lower costs and speed up employee scheduling so that we can make changes in real-time and download reports at any point to ascertain how efficiently we are performing. Crucially, it also allows us to deploy the right skills and certifications in the best way, and enhance retention, boosting quality of care in the process.”

“While quality care is the primary goal in any healthcare environment, it must be delivered in the most efficient way,” comments David Allcock, Vice President, Global Healthcare, Infor. “However this seeming dichotomy is impossible to achieve with generic software. Infor’s applications include the capabilities to meet challenges specific to the healthcare sector – built-in – not bolted on. Infor WFM helps organizations lower costs, boost productivity and support quality care and compliance, assisting the leading hospitals and medical centers across the world to be the best in their respective fields.”
