While the shipyard have been busy getting the dedicated Integrity 55 production division up to full speed, the design team have barely had time to enjoy the praise the 55 has been garnering both at home and abroad. That said it would have been impossible for them to remain completely ignorant of the journalists, customers and yachtbrokers who have been delighted by the seahandling and performance of the Integrity 55’s hull design, which returns to classic engineering-led principles of yacht design, without sacrificing interior space or comfort.
Since last March’s Dubai International Boat Show, the design studio has been a hive of activity as work continues on both the Integrity 90 and 68 models. Construction of the first Integrity 90 is well underway and yard visitors lucky enough to steal a glimpse of her graceful, sporty lines as she becomes a fibreglass reality have confirmed our expectation that she will cause at least as much of a stir as her smaller sister.
The 68 meanwhile is just beginning the journey from New Zealander in-house design manager Bradley Collet’s drawing board to reality, with the first frames of the buck being laid down in January. Although Integrity trademark sea handling characteristics were foremost in the designer’s concerns once again, that would be no excuse for the 68’s styling and proportions to disappoint, and initial reactions to the sketches emerging from the studio have been very encouraging.
Full details of both new models will be available on the Integrity stand at the Dubai International Boat Show in March. Of course the 55 will not be left out of the excitement: in fact with two new interior colour schemes on display and a range of new optional refinements to the popular design including full-height opening portholes in the master cabin, a flybridge sunbed and electrically operated galley window, we are rather hoping she’ll be one of the stars of the show.
As mentioned previously, the design team have not had time to revel in the press’ appreciation for the Integrity 55, so I hope you’ll excuse us if we indulge them here. In particular the enthusiastic response from the experienced and challenging Italian market has reinforced the shipyard’s belief that a UAE yachtbuilder can stand up and be counted amongst the world’s best.
