IHG celebrates Staybridge Suites brand’s 200th hotel opening

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, announced the 200th hotel opening for its Staybridge Suites brand – a milestone met faster than any other brand in the upscale extended stay segment. The brand’s 200th property, Staybridge Suites Denver-Stapleton, has opened in Denver, Colorado, USA, as the brand continues its rapid global expansion.

Staybridge Suites launched its first hotel in the Middle East in Cairo in 2008 with Staybridge Suites Cairo-Citystars and, since then, two more Staybridge Suites hotels have opened (Staybridge Suites Yas Island Abu Dhabi and Staybridge Suites Beirut). The brand continues to grow in the region – a further eight hotels are due to open across the UAE, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Kuwait over the coming three to five years.

The opening of the 102-room Staybridge Suites Denver-Stapleton hotel expands the brand’s Denver, Colorado portfolio to five properties and creates 30 new jobs in the community.

In the Middle East, the Staybridge Suites brand continues to appeal to extended-stay guests. All three of the Staybridge Suites hotels in the Middle East have been recognised this year as top performing hotels – all three have received Certificate of Excellence 2014 awards from TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site. The accolade, which honours hospitality excellence, is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on the site.

The Staybridge Suites Denver-Stapleton hotel is owned by Gary Tharaldson and managed by Tharaldson Hospitality Management, and is franchised by an affiliate of IHG. The new all-suite hotel is located a short drive from downtown Denver at 8101 E Northfield Blvd. in Denver, Colo., directly across the street from The Shops at Northfield Stapleton, which offer many shopping and dining venues for guest entertainment. In addition, the hotel is near the National Western Complex, a 600,000 square foot event facility that can accommodate groups from 50 to 10,000 people, Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, home of the Colorado Rapids Soccer Team and Coors Field, home of the Colorado Rockies. The University of Colorado Hospital and Buckley Air Force Base are also both located nearby.
