InterContinental Hotels Group resorts in Port Ghalib – Marsa Alam were honoured to host ”United for Egypt” Convention which started on June 11th, for 2 days to revive tourism in the Red Sea destination in Egypt.
The Italian – Egyptian event was organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism, ASTOI Travel Confederation, Italy’s business union in the tourism sector, AINeT (the association of Italian networks), together with 700 tour operators, 4 airlines and multiple Italian & Egyptian media officials.
Marc Reissinger, InterContinental Hotels Group Resorts in Port Ghalib Area General Manager & the management team welcomed H. E. Maurizio Massari – the Italian Ambassador to Egypt, H. E. Hisham Zaazou – the Egyptian Minister of Tourism, and the VIP attendees from the Italian & Egyptian delegations. The event’s press conference was held at held Port Ghalib’s International Convention Centre – the only multipurpose state-of-the art-centre of its size on the Red Sea, located in the heart of the exciting destination of Port Ghalib, featuring unrivalled facilities. A luxurious Gala diner was held around the dazzling saltwater lagoon for 800 participants, where all attendees enjoyed the entertaining live Folkloric, Tannoura & belly dancer shows.
Multiple planned recreational activities were done for the delegations to discover the hidden gems of Port Ghalib destination. A half day Boat trip & snorkeling from InterContinental The Palace Port Ghalib Resort’s Jetty gave the guests the chance to explore the wonders of the Red Sea with its reddish hue, warmest sea with little wave action & unsurpassed visibility. All guests enjoyed the organized exciting water sports activities of Fly Board, Jet Ski & Banana Boat and spent thrilling time while racing at Port Ghalib’s Go Kart & Quad Bikes racing tracks.
The Italian & Egyptian delegations praised the service rendered during their stay and showed their appreciation for making the convention a success.
