Hyperforma is aimed at industries such as construction, civil engineering, oil and gas, emergency services or even rock concerts where remote, instant IT infrastructure is required sometimes in a rugged configuration.
Hyperforma removes the need for on-site staff to install and manage multiple servers. It is able to be managed remotely and comes with pre-installed, tested software services in a virtualised environment, resulting in reduced demand for on-site maintenance and hence direct cost savings. This also means staff can upgrade and add customised services remotely, something that is often impractical for a remote office.
“We developed Hyperforma to solve the remote office problem for our construction industry customers in the Middle East, where environmental issues can destroy IT infrastructure in weeks,” said Peter Job, CEO of Intergence. “In remote offices installation and support of IT infrastructure is expensive and impractical.
Hyperforma not only replaces up to eight servers with one ruggedized box, but removes the need to send IT staff out to install services or fix problems everything is done remotely. Hyperforma also delivers rapid ROI, typically six to eleven months. Gitex 2010 provides the perfect platform to showcase this new product to the Middle East regional market.”
Hyperforma is available in enterprise and ruggedized configurations and delivers application performance improvements via WAN acceleration by as much as 90% and has multiple WAN connectivity options that include 3G, WiFi and satellite, all of which can be managed remotely. Hyperforma does not require an air conditioned environment, is customisable and all configurations provide a high degree of system availability via RAID enabled disk arrays, redundant dual power supplies, hot swappable fans and disks resulting in 50,000 hours MTBF. Options are available for 99.999% server availability.
Hyperforma is available with one, two or four QUAD Core processors, a minimum of 4GB DDR3 of RAM, expandable up to 24GB and conforms to military standards for shock, vibration, dust-proofing and filtering for hazardous operating environments (MIL-STD 810F/DEF STAN 00-35). It also has a ruggedized integrated screen and keyboard and is IPMI v2 capable for lights-out/remote hardware management.
Underpinning the Hyperforma innovation is Intergence Systems’ ambitious programme to develop software and services to support organisations worldwide with their need to reduce ICT based power consumption, leveraging the company’s strong links with the academic and entrepreneurial communities within Cambridge, and which has won support from innovation funds granted by the UK government.
The company recently announced that it has joined ‘The Green Grid’ which is an influential consortium established to provide industry-wide recommendations on best practices, metrics and technologies that will improve overall data center energy efficiency. This represents an important development for Intergence Systems and its R&D Company, Intergence Optimisation, in its strategy to develop greener solutions for the ICT industry.
