Majid Al Futtaim’s Mall of the Emirates located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is the recipient of the 2012 Middle East and North Africa Community Support Award for its “It’s a Woman’s World at Mall of the Emirates” campaign.
The Mall of the Emirates wanted to connect with their community and needed to focus its efforts on a cause that was relevant and meaningful to the more than 200 nationalities and varieties of cultural backgrounds of its visitors. As a result, the Mall of the Emirates created “It’s a Woman’s World at Mall of the Emirates” campaign which focused on women’s empowerment. The campaign highlighted extraordinary women living in its communities who have taken big leaps outside their traditional roles and made a positive change in society.
Professional recognition for this award was given to Lizelle Fitoussi, marketing manager, Mall of the Emirates; Pam Bryson, director of marketing, Majid Al Futtaim Properties;
Vino El Khatib, senior director of marketing, Majid Al Futtaim Properties; Fuad Sharaf, senior asset director, Majid Al Futtaim Properties; and Aisha Yorks, events and promotions manager, Mall of the Emirates.
The ICSC Foundation established the Middle East and North Africa Community Support Award to encourage and recognize outstanding community support by a shopping centre or shopping centre development or management company in the region of the Middle East and North Africa. Mall of the Emirates will receive a $5,000.00 donation from the ICSC Foundation towards their philanthropic endeavors.
Additionally, the Middle East and North Africa Community Support Award winner, along with the winners of the other community support awards, will automatically be entered into a competition for the prestigious Albert Sussman International Community Support Award.
