The intensive, day-long course will be organized into half-day sessions taught by some of the world’s leading experts in desalination technologies. The first half-day will cover membrane processes, while afternoon sessions will address thermal processes. In addition to the full day of training, which runs from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, the Academy is arranging for a complimentary, behind-the-scenes plant visit on December 6.
The Membrane Technologies sessions will be conducted by Master Teachers of the Academy:
Professor Harvey Winters, Visiting Professor at Nanyang Technical University in Singapore, Research Associate Scientist at KAUST in Saudi Arabia, and Professor Emeritus at Fairleigh Dickinson University, USA.
Nikolay Voutchkov, President, Water Globe Consulting, LLC, USA
The sessions on Thermal Processes will be conducted by invited lecturers of the Academy:
Dr. Roberto Borsani, Director of Desalination, FISIA Italimpianti, Italy
Vincent Baujat, Managing Director, SIDEM, France
“The goal of the Academy is to inspire innovation and excellence. To this end, the upcoming course in Jeddah provides an unprecedented opportunity for managers and engineers, students and researchers to expand their knowledge in all aspects of thermal, membrane and hybrid desalination technologies. These sessions are designed so that participants take away real-world, practical information – in addition to theory – to enhance their professional development,” said Leon Awerbuch, Interim Dean, IDA Desalination Academy.
