Director General of IFHC, Mohammed Saleh Al Baidani, said: “This year’s record production and release numbers are resounding proof of the success of the Sheikh Khalifa Houbara Reintroduction Project and our captive breeding programme to provide a sustainable future for the Houbara across its wide range.”
He added: “The outstanding results and variety of projects we are showcasing here at ADIHEX highlight the importance of the Houbara in our cultural heritage. The future of the Houbara and falconry are intrinsically linked and IFHC is committed to delivering the global strategy of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, to conserve and sustain Houbara numbers in the wild for future generations.”
IFHC’s stand, with its panoramic view across the centre and live Houbara displays, takes visitors through the story of Abu Dhabi’s efforts over thirty years and explains what the Fund is doing to conserve the bird.
IFHC is also showcasing its education programme, which is being run in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Education Council, with a kids’ corner including electronic games and different interactive activities.
