Mohamed Saleh Al Baidani, Director General of IFHC said: “Once again IFHC’s stand has proven to be a major success attracting the interest of the general public, as well as senior public officials. With our focus upon informing and influencing the youth of today, it was particularly rewarding to see so many children discovering the Houbara for themselves. They will be the falconers and conservationists of tomorrow, so it is vital that they understand how important it is to provide a sustainable future for the Houbara in order to preserve our heritage.”
IFHC’s education programme designed to educate and inform future generations about Houbara, was showcased through students’ presentations and school work in its kids’ corner, and was the main draw of visitors’ attention to the stand.
The programme with its focus on conservation efforts and the scientific understanding of the bird and its cultural significance, is being integrated across schools in Abu Dhabi in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC).
