Don’t underestimate the impact of global economic crisis on Gulf tube and pipe industry: International Tube Association

United Arab Emirates: Saturday, December 06 - 2008 @ 16:58

The ITA said the expected fast recovery would be due to the fact that the global demand for energy, infrastructure development, construction projects, water and air conditioning supply and automobiles – the key sectors that drive the tube and pipe industry — will continue to grow.

The ITA alongwith some of their esteemed members are participating at TEKNO TUBE ARABIA 2009, the 9th International Trade Fair for Industrial Machinery, Metalworking, Machine Tools, Dies/Molds, Tubes, and Pipes being organized from January 10 to 13, 2009, at the Dubai International Exhibition Center.

Phillip Knight, Executive Secretary, International Tube Association said the industry associations have an important part to play in helping members to ride out the storm with practical tips — whether in exhibiting, presenting technical papers, taking advantage of cost-effective networking opportunities or using the association’s extensive media facilities for marketing and promotion.

Knight added:

“The ITA is very selective in the events that it supports and tries to guide its members in making the right choice for key mature or developing markets. It is a given that TEKNO TUBE ARABIA is the largest and most important regional exhibition for the industry, an event which is visited by a wide array of the world’s tube and pipe customers. The ITA is glad to unwavering in its support for the oldest show in the region which we consider the gateway to the extremely important Gulf and Middle East markets.”

There are a number of ways through which the ITA increases its profile and as a consequence, memberships throughout the world.

Exhibitions provide a key contact point for meeting potential new members and explaining the many benefits of joining the world’s largest and arguably most important membership association of tube and pipe engineers.

Tekno Tube Arabia provides the ITA with the most important forum for disseminating information to the Arab world.

As well as exhibitions the ITA, a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting its members in the global market, organises technical conferences and other valuable networking events to promote membership and share expertise between members.

Following the 2007 Tekno Tube Arabia exhibition, the ITA experienced a surge of interest in membership and seeks to leverage the 2009 event for further expansion in the GCC market and support its members and the industry at large in these testing times.

ITA will have a joint booth at Tekno Tube Arabia along with The International Wire & Machinery Association (IWMA).

More than 300 exhibitors from around the world are expected to showcase technologies and products at Tekno Tube Arabia Exhibition 2009.
