Held in collaboration with the Hashemite University and PRAVO Training Academy, the graduation ceremony took place on Wednesday 28th August, 2013, at the Hashemite University, and was attended by a group of IYF representatives, President of the Hashemite University Dr. Kamal Bani Hani, General Manager of PRAVO Nisreen Al-Disi, President of AlShuaa Charity Association Ibtisam Al-Majali, as well as the graduates’ parents.
This Hospital Management Training is one of a number of programmes that IYF carries out as part of its strategic alliances with public, private, and local CBOs, aimed towards building youth’s capabilities and enhancing their employability. Partners and service providers supporting IYF with its Hospital Management Training programme include the Hashemite University and PRAVO Training Academy.
The Training covered the basic concepts related to healthcare and patient record management, as well as practical applications for dealing with patients and their families, the administrative skills required for healthcare assistants and strategic planning for medical record departments. It also included hospital statistics, reviewing and sorting medical records, entering patient information and appointments, preparing and analyzing medical reports, and using technology to deal with medical records.
“Healthcare services and medical facilities in Jordan, particularly in the private sector, are among the best in the region, and hospital management is a field that is lacking in qualified personnel,” commented IYF Country Director Rana Al Turk. “As such, this Programme is aimed at connecting our young graduates to suitable potential job opportunities that can positively impact their lives.”
Youth for the Future – formerly known as Youth:Work Jordan (YWJ) – is a five-year programme of the International Youth Foundation (IYF) carried out in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development and the Government of Jordan (USAID) and the Government of Jordan.
Working in collaboration with public, private and civil society organizations, the programme aims to create an enabling environment for vulnerable youth – aged between 15 and 24 – by improving the quality of services offered to young individuals who have dropped-out of school, are unemployed or lack opportunity.
Y4F offers young disadvantaged individuals technical and life skills training which allows them to develop effective communication, teamwork, conflict resolution and career preparation skills in order to equip them to succeed in both the workplace and their daily lives.
