Abu Dhabi business boom attracts global headhunter

United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, February 28 - 2006 @ 12:48

InterSearch in the Gulf, one of the region’s premiere executive search firms and already well-established in Dubai, opened the Abu Dhabi office March 1st. It is run by Peter McLean formerly a senior executive with Standard Chartered Bank who has held responsibility for businesses in Australia, USA, UK, Far East and Africa. McLean’s background in finance and investment is expected to give an even bigger boost to the search firm’s excellent reputation within the region’s business community.

InterSearch in the Gulf is part of InterSearch Worldwide, a global network of executive search consultants with more than 80 offices in 40 countries. InterSearch first opened its Dubai office in 1998 and has since successfully recruited candidates, both locally and internationally, for a variety of industries throughout the Middle East. The firm, headed by Managing Director John Robinson, has doubled in size in the past year.

“The opening of the Abu Dhabi office was the obvious next step to the rapid growth we’re seeing in the region. Businesses there rarely used global headhunters in the past,” says Robinson, “but now with the rising demand for more international and regional expertise, they are finding that it is often the only way to hire the best candidates for the job.”

InterSearch also has offices in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam and plans to open in Qatar before the end of the year.
