The joint venture, Barloworld Logistics Middle East L.L.C., will initially focus on introducing its inventory optimization and management solutions set, Inventory Optimizer, to the Region and later integrate this within a comprehensive logistics service offering.
Mr. Barry Saxton, Director, Barloworld Logistics (Pty) Ltd. And Chairman of Barloworld Logistics Middle East L.L.C., said: “ We are very excited about entering this region. Our inventory optimization service is the first of its kind to be launched in the Middle East and has a proven international track record to help companies manage their inventories in a much more efficient way by reducing unnecessary stockpiling of products and at the same time maintaining the optimal levels of inventory the business requires. The solution is a combination of proven best practice in inventory management methodologies, breakthrough statistical techniques and world-class inventory management and modeling tools.” Barloworld Logistics Middle East L.L.C. has already generated considerable client interest in the U.A.E. and is expected to announce its first major contract in October 2005.
