ITC celebrates 11 years of success & prosperity in the Jordanian market

This last decade, ITC has focused all its efforts on maintaining supreme production quality adhered to global standards; which has been achieved through the company’s constant upgrade of facilities, machinery, and production lines leading to a strategic affiliation with the world’s giant tobacco company, Philip Morris. With this came ITC’s domination of the local market with over 50% share and its solid success of penetrating various new markets from the GCC, Levant, Africa, Egypt, through to Iran and Iraq. ITC is also a major player in the Kingdom’s economy by generating USD 160 million worth of exports and paying approximately half a billion US Dollars in taxes and fares to the government since its establishment.

The company’s management celebrated the anniversary along with its staff whom they share a strong sense of community with. Over the past years, ITC has committed itself to addressing its staff’s issues, needs, and social welfare through mentoring, incentive programs, and extending assistance when needed and appropriate.

Mr. Tawfiq Fakhouri, ITC’s Chairman of the Board, stated,

“ITC’s team of 550 of Jordan’s most dynamic, productive, and highly motivated workforce is the backbone for our company’s success and business excellence. Therefore, and due to our strong belief in the importance of continuous self and skill development, we have integrated a number of advanced training programs in our team’s growing career paths to prepare them for the advancement in technologies and procedures.”

Furthermore, ITC continues to contribute to its staff and their families’ lives through the ever developing corporate social responsibility programs it adopts. The contribution comes in many forms however, one of the most notable is ITC’s sponsorship of the under-graduate studies of staff siblings who outperform at the General Secondary Education (Tawjihi) certificate; in addition to allocating half a month’s pay annually in order to keep them motivated, stimulated, and inspired.

ITC recognized that it had to have a systematic approach in order to retain its position as a good corporate citizen; which led to the establishment of its public relations department. In addition to planning and implementing well-thought out public relations strategies, the department has been working on identifying deserving organizations to assist based on Jordan’s relevant issues and priorities. As a result, the community has received support in various ways, including philanthropic grants, donations, and sponsoring of educational programs. Finally, ITC will continue to further develop its corporate social responsibility program in an effort to share the Kingdom’s burden and to help better Jordanians’ quality of life.

Mr. Fakhouri declared, “ITC’s flourishing success would not have been possible without the political and economic security of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The security benefits derive from the combined synergy and efforts of the security forces in maintaining security and harmony among people under the judicious leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II. Furthermore, it is essential to mention the vital role of the government’s attributed effective support, namely from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance, that has played a key role in ITC’s success. “
