The iTQi follows a strict process of sensory analysis. Each product is submitted to an individual and blind evaluation. The intensity the global of gustative pleasure as well as the various organoleptic criteria (aspect, olfaction, texture, taste and after-taste) are analysed in detail. The final score summarises the perception of the Jury as a whole. iTQi establishes a detailed graph of the marks and establishes a report to the attention of the participating enterprises, with the comments and suggestions made by the judges.
There are 3 types of Awards:
1 star: global score between 70 and 80%: good taste
2 stars: global score between 80 and 90%: remarkable taste
3 stars: global score equal or higher than 90%: exceptional taste
The Award is used by producers to facilitate commercial negotiations and as a marketing tool. The label can be found on the packaging of the products, which allows consumers to select them confidently, knowing their taste has been recommended by opinion leaders such as chefs and sommeliers.
DHA Omega 3 Golden Eggs, Lutein Golden Eggs and Golden Eggs presented by Al Jazira Poultry Farm LLC have been granted the Superior Taste Award 2008.
“The members of the Jury particularly appreciated the variety of products which were presented this year. The products proved to be of excellent level. Furthermore, we are very happy about the growing use of our label at international level.
Our mission is not limited to evaluating products but also to promoting those which have been awarded, both on local and export markets. In this context, we are offering a series of marketing tools and undertake targeted communication actions. Receiving the Superior Taste Award label is certainly a success but is only useful if the information reaches the final consumers. This is fundamental and examples of success stories are now plentiful,” declare Louis Frère and Christian De Bauw, iTQi Managing Partners.
