In addition, Ius Laboris has also announced that Nestor Nestor Diculescu Kingston Petersen in Romania and Al Tamimi & Company, the largest law firm in the Middle East, have both joined the Alliance as affiliate members.

The new members and affiliates were appointed at the Ius Laboris Board meeting held in London on Thursday, 7 February 2013. The Alliance now comprises 46 firms with over 1000 lawyers in over 43 countries and 150 cities worldwide.

Commenting on the new Alliance members, Sam Everatt, Executive Director of Ius Laboris, said: “We are delighted to extend our coverage in Eastern Europe. Vasil Kisil and Partners is one of the pre eminent law firms in the Ukraine and NNDKP are a leading firm in Romania, Their international reputation and experience will prove to be a real asset to Ius Laboris and our clients operating in the region.”

He continued: “As part of our strategic expansion in the key Middle Eastern region, which was announced with the membership of top Israeli law firm Herzog Fox Neeman (HFN) in October 2012, we are delighted to have been joined by Al Tamimi & Company as an affiliate member. With its head office in Dubai, Al Tamimi is the largest law firm in the Middle East, with 10 offices in six countries and firmly cements our ability to support our clients who are active in the fast moving economies across the region.”

These new member appointments are part of a significant growth strategy for Ius Laboris who, at the end 2012, announced HFN’s membership in Israel along with affiliate members, Nitschneider & Novak in Slovakia and TransAsia Lawyers and Fangda Partners in China, the Alliance’s first members in the Pacific Rim region.

Chris Engels, newly appointed chairman of Ius Laboris said: “Our expansion in the Middle East is key to extending our services in these dynamic markets. The extension of our geographic footprint in Ukraine and Romania comes at a critical time for European labour markets and will be an invaluable resource to our multinational clients.”
