JeanRichard, luxury Swiss watch brand eyes Middle East expansion

United Arab Emirates: Saturday, June 06 - 2009 @ 15:05

Massimo Macaluso, Managing Director of JeanRichard will be visiting Dubai as part of a tour of the Middle East region to explore business development opportunities.

With roots dating back to the watch genius Daniel JeanRichard in 1681, JeanRichard was acquired by the Sowind Group in the mid-90s. Massimo Macaluso became the youngest Managing Director in the luxury watch business industry when he took over the brand in 2003. He had previously gained significant experience in the business during the 10 years before his nomination.

“We have identified the Middle East region as an important target market for our brand development, as its consumers are known to be discerning in their choices and have a profound understanding and appreciation of true and authentic luxury,”

observed Mr. Macaluso. He also noted that JeanRichard timepieces are famous for their sophistication, exceptional design and quality.

The brand has the privilege to benefit from a total creative and technical independence, resulting in the development of innovative in house manufactured cases and movements. JeanRichard is one of the rare Swiss watch brands which have always supported the intrinsic philosophy of developing their timepieces internally, and which have always worked towards the perpetuation of a more than three centuries old historical know how.

JeanRichard watches currently retail in more than 200 outlets in over 35 countries. The Sowind Group also owns the high-end Girar-Perregaux brand which has a wide distribution network in the Middle East.
