Organized by JFBPW and GAM Souk Ramadan will open on 20/9/2008 at Al-Hussein Public Park.
Dakakin will constitute a public market to exhibit and sell consumption products like clothing, gifts, souvenirs, leather and rug industry, food stuff and furnishings at reduced prices to encourage people visit the Souk and buy their daily necessities during Ramadan.
JFBPW came up with this idea, Souk Ramadan “Dakakin”, in its efforts to constantly look for activities that empower women’s role in society, this initiative comes as part of JFBPW’s role in helping Jordanian women support and cater for their families’ needs especially during this holy month of Ramadan.
Commenting on the Arab Bank sponsorship for this event Ms. Dina Shoman, Executive Vice President office of the GM said:

JFBPW announced that holding Souk Ramadan (Dakakin) for a limited period of time would be the first step within this initiative, as we seek to hold it annually in future and expand its activities to include folkloric performances fro the participating countries, in addition to traditional food tasting and selling especially Ramadan traditional products at competitive prices.
In a n aim to introduce Arab heritage to the Jordanian society and offer maximum benefits and facilities to make this holy month of Ramadan both enjoyable and pleasant.
Mrs. Reem Aldemen, JFBPW Deputy Director, stated that launching such a big initiative like this would have a great impact on the purchase power of average Jordanians and meets His Majesty King Abdullah II vision to encourage commercial and tourist activities in Jordan especially during this month.
