The Forum anticipates the participation of 120 professional businesswomen from various regions of the Kingdom that represent the economic sectors as well as female decision makers from the private and public sector.
The Forum was prompted by the call of the businesswomen in the Middle East to discuss their vision and requirements in taking an active role in the progression of the economic sector and the expansion of the Jordanian economy. Jordan’s First National Businesswomen Forum aims to discuss opportunities, provide solutions and establish a framework for businesswomen in different sectors, industries and governances to take advantage of prospects available to them so they become decision makers in the economic sector.
Senator Wijdan Talhouni and Chairman of the JFBPW stressed,
“This Forum is an extension of Jordan Forum for Business and Professional Women initiatives as we strive to hold various projects, activities and seminars that is inline with our mission in educating, training, endorsing specialization, opening opportunities, ensuring legal rights for motivated women to work in social, trade and economic development so they may become business leaders and decision makers.”
Specifically, the Forum aims to discuss: Women in trade, IT use in business for women, women in economic decision making positions and finally regulations and laws affecting businesswomen in Jordan. Through these discussions, the aimed outcome will be to provide a strategy to promote
women in achieving their objective of becoming decision makers in the economy. Included in the strategy, the Forum aims to create key performance indicators so that the developments in the sectors are measurable. All conclusions and priorities will be established by the participating members of the Forum.
