This development is the first of many major announcements concerning Saudi Arabia that the company is expected to make in the near future.
Based at the industrial area of Jubail City on the east cost of Saudi Arabia, the new Service Center further enhances John Crane’s existing capabilities. It features many of the company’s industry-leading technology and advanced processes, and will incorporate wet seal repair, local order processing, commercial support and a training facility. It also represents a significant evolution within the wider Middle East mechanical seal industry.
The Jubail Service Centre’s opening was attended by Mr. Adnan Bin Abdullah Al Na’eem, the Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce in the Eastern province, and a number of prominent guests representing key John Crane customers. The opening ceremony was followed by an open day where guests were able to meet with senior John Crane personnel. They also took part in a technical training session presented by Mr. Jack Bagain, Engineering Manager at John Crane, Coupling Manager, Mr. Raouf Rojubally and Dry Gas Seal Manager, Mr. Rob Brice.
“Engineered sealing systems is a fast moving and exciting industry that is dependent on innovation and technical excellence,” said Adrian Hansberry, General Manager for John Crane Saudi Arabia. “The initial feedback from our customers has been very positive. They are impressed by the range of services and the general high standards and quality control of John Crane. We are dedicated to continuing to provide solutions that meet our customer’s requirements as the industry develops in the future.”
Offering service capability around-the-clock, the John Crane service centre will maintain and repair wet seals, in addition to creating new job and training opportunities for local people by the transfer of technical know-how.
“We are excited to see local manpower working at the new service centre in Jubail. To this effect, extensive efforts are being made to recruit more people from throughout Saudi Arabia, and we anticipate that the number of John Crane employees in the region will continue to grow.” stated Hansberry
The decision to establish a technologically advanced service centre in Saudi Arabia is based on its central geographical location to John Crane’s customers, and the well-established distribution routes to all parts of the Middle East and beyond.
John Crane has been operating in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for more than 15 years. The company’s business in the Kingdom has evolved tremendously and undergone unprecedented growth to the point where it now offers a comprehensive and truly world-class range of services that meet the needs of its customers throughout the country.
“This further investment not only reinforces John Crane’s commitment to those customers, but also to Saudi Arabia by adding to the local economy.” concluded Hansberry.
John Crane is part of Smiths Group.
