First conference on Jordanian-GCC Economic Relations

The one-day Conference will be held on Monday 21st November, 2005 at the Awal ballroom, Gulf Hotel, Bahrain. It is organized by the Jordanian Permanent Exhibition, which will be inaugurated on 20th November, 2005 in the Hedaya 2 Building on Government Avenue.

H.E. Mr. Sharif Al Zu’bi, the Jordanian Minister of Industry and Commerce, and H.E. Mr. Aqeel Baltaji, Consultant to H.M King Abdullah II of Jordan are two of the high dignitaries expected to speak at this milestone Conference, among several others, both local and regional.

The Conference is targeting businessmen and investors in Jordan and GCC countries with several objectives in mind. These include: promoting and developing economic and trade ties between Jordan and GCC countries, directing Gulf investment capitals to Jordan and Jordanian capital to the GCC, ensuring that Jordanian products and services reach the GCC market and vice versa, and fostering close relations between Jordanian and Gulf traders and businessmen and the establishment of joint-ventures.

The Conference agenda comprises three sessions. The first session includes the following topics: Forthcoming Investment Opportunities in Jordan, Investing in Jordan from an Arab Perspective, and Why Jordan. The second session will include: A Horizon of Investment Opportunities in the Arab World, and the Economic Media.

The third session will comprise: The Competitive Edge of Jordanian Products and Services and Free Arab Trade Agreements in Theory and Practice.
