The first culturally themed youth festival in the region will showcase the spirit of community and continuous support for the country. The festival which will take place at Katara, the Cultural Village, will include photography exhibitions, conferences, beach activities, talent shows and concerts.
Mohammed Farid, CEO of The Youth Company, said: “This festival is dedicated to the youth, providing them with fun and exciting activities to express themselves in a unique environment. We would like to thank Qatar Museum Authority and Katara for enabling us to create the ultimate festival in honour of the youth. We hope that this festival inspires people to continue participating in sports activities throughout the year.”
The festival will be the largest multi-sport, national initiative for youth, providing a platform to showcase their talents in a creative environment. The unique activities aim to explore the many different cultures and traditions that have come together in Qatar as well as promoting health and fitness.

We are extremely pleased to collaborate with our partners to bring this event to life and are certain it will be a great success,” said Dr. Christian Wacker, Director of Qatar’s Sports & Olympic Museum.
The first “Run The World” Youth Conference will also bring together Qatar’s youth leaders to discuss long-term projects that will ensure the sustainability of the development of youth in
Sports in Qatar. The conference will take place on 13th December and initiatives for 2012 will be presented during the closing ceremony.
Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Imad Sultan, Cultural Director, Katara, said: “This initiative is an excellent opportunity to engage youth in sports and we are proud to host this event in our state of the art facilities. Providing a platform for an event that recognises the importance of youth in Qatari culture contributes to our long term vision to educate, entertain and demonstrate the importance of cultural exchange.”
“Run The World” will also run a photography and short film competition which will provide amateur photographers and film enthusiasts with the opportunity to have their works displayed during the exhibition. Participants will be expected to showcase a piece under the theme of Youth and Sports, expressing their interpretation and vision of youth empowerment.
