Through their participation, the partners showcased the accomplishment of the Parzel automated solutions in the U.A.E as part of the KEBA logistics solutions global network.
As part of their presence at the summit, Mr. Obaid Al Qahash, the CEO of Parzel Express and Logistics, gave a live demonstration of the revolutionary Parzel delivery machine right through the day to the summit’s key leaders, technology professionals and general visitors. The presentations further reinforced the fact that Parzel delivery Points/Machines are truly a first-of-its-kind delivery model in the Middle East. Parzel is an automated service that allows you to deliver or collect parcels at easy-to-access Parzel locations of your choice. Automated booths are available for self-service parcel collection 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Parzel delivers services via touch screen kiosks with separate, secure compartments for each delivery. The compartments are allocated per transaction based on specific size and weight requirements. The choice of which Parzel station location to use is up to the customer. Both sender and receiver will be altered to the delivery’s location and pin number via SMS and email.
In the Postal Innovation Forum which took place on the second day of the summit, the partners gave a joint presentation about how to successfully implement automated first and last solutions with the best practice in the U.A.E. The presentation has highlighted the latest efficient security and environmentally friendly technologies provided by KEBA and conducted by Parzel Express & Logistics.
Parzel upgraded the electronic security system of the delivery process by adding the identification aspect using the U.A.E National ID card for all citizens and residents. For the online registration process of sending any parcel, the end user must upload his/her National ID Card where the company will check its validity and the actual existence of the user to proceed with the delivery. The importance of the integrated identification technology using the U.A.E National ID is influenced by the initiative of the “ID World Abu Dhabi Summit 2012” to embrace the best technological infrastructure and modern systems to assure citizens’ and residents’ security and convenience.
Many new environment-friendly technologies were revealed at the summit, including new PC software technology, scanning the barcodes of the delivery airway bells though smart phones when picking up parcels from the machines, using the Enabled-LED power consumption light for higher visibility of the display screen, and adding a build-in debit and credit card deposit slot with E-bells. Other smart technologies to be implemented in the near future are advanced mobile application for the Parzel delivery points’ service, and a new modularity shape.
To further enhance customer convenience, the Parzel delivery kiosk is designed to be within the reach of the handicapped user where he/she could insert the pin numbers to open the machine’s boxes easily, and even to collect from the top boxes.
Mr. Obaid Al Qahash, CEO Parzel Express and Logistics, reiterated the environment-friendly aspect of Parzel. “We are committed to present an automated green parcel delivery service in the country for the benefit of all U.A.E citizens and residents. Parzel was created to revolutionize the delivery system by overcoming common problems such as failed delivery attempts and delivery of packages in off peak hours. More importantly, it focuses on reducing carbon emissions by reducing the number of delivery vehicle used,” said Mr. Qahash.
Commenting on the participation, Mr. Heinz Grillmayr, Head of International Sales, KEBA, said, “The ID World Abu Dhabi Summit presents the ideal forum to discuss all developing automated technologies that benefit both public and private sectors. It is the perfect hub to build new business opportunities, and exchange experiences with experts in the automatic identification and digital network security industry, and the innovative postal and express shipping field. Our presence with our partner Parzel is the biggest evidence on the success of this automated self-service solution in the U.A.E,” he added, reinforcing the big impact that this partnership has made in terms of security, technology and environment protection.
