Adrian Cole, a partner at King & Spalding, will be a featured speaker at the day-long conference Building the Gulf: Legal Challenges and Solutions, to be held at the Westin Hotel, in Dubai, on April 24. The conference is sponsored by the Society of Construction Law (Gulf).
Cole will discuss the challenges parties involved in international arbitration face in the selection of a tribunal. His presentation is titled ‘Arbitrators: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly’.
Cole leads King & Spalding dispute resolution practice in the Middle East. He is resident in the firm’s Abu Dhabi office. Cole concentrates on construction law, advising on disputes related to energy and infrastructure development. An experienced arbitrator, adjudicator and mediator, he is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and member of the Chartered Institute of Building. Prior to becoming a lawyer, he qualified as a quantity surveyor, where he gained firsthand experience of the practical issues in the engineering and construction industries.
The Society of Construction Law (Gulf), formed in 2006, aims to promote the study and understanding of construction law among those involved in the construction industry in the UAE and Gulf region. It is an affiliate of the 2,200-member Society of Construction Law of the United Kingdom.
