Prince Alwaleed hosts dinner in honor of Sheikh Saad AlHariri

HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) hosted a dinner in honor of HE Sheikh Saad Ed Deen Rafiq AlHariri, Former Prime Minister of Lebanon at Kingdom Resort in Riyadh on Sunday 20th April, 2014.

The two held discussions regarding the bi-lateral relations and warm friendship between their two countries, as well as regional and global issues. Sheikh Saad commended Prince Alwaleed on his support of Lebanon especially through his investments, as well as his charitable and humanitarian contributions since more than 20 years ago.

Prince Alwaleed’s humanitarian support to Lebanon is through “Alwaleed Bin Talal Humanitarian Foundation” that is chaired by Prince Alwaleed and Vice Chaired by H.E. Ms. Leila El Solh.

The occasion was attended by The delegation from KHC which included Eng. Talal Almaiman, Executive Director for Development and Domestic Investments and Member of the Investment Committee, Mr. Mohammed Fahmy, KHC’s CFO, Mr. Mohammed Almujadidi, Senior Executive Manager, Office of HRH the chairman, Ms. Intisar Alyamani, Executive Manager, Corporate Communications Department, Mr. Naief Alzuhair, Website and Social Media Manager, Corporate Communications Department and Ms. Manal Alshammary, Manager, Protocol Department.

The delegation from Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation that is chaired by Prince Alwaleed included Ms. Abir Kaki, Secretary General and Sheikh Dr. Ali AlNashwan, Religious Advisor to HRH Prince Alwaleed.

The media delegation from Rotana that is chaired by Prince Alwaleed included Mr. Abdullah Almudaifer, Mr. Idrees AlIdrees, Mr. Ali Alilyani and Mr. Yahya Alameer.

From HRH’s private office, the attendees were Ms. Nada Alsugair, Executive Director, Finance & Administration, Dr. Nahla Nasser Alanbar, Private Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman, Ms. Amani Alqahtani, Assistant Executive Manager for HRH’s Private Facilities, Ms. Hassna Alturki, Department Head Travel & External Affairs, and Mr. Fahad Bin Saad Bin Nafel, Executive Assistant to HRH the Chairman.

In September 2013, Prince Alwaleed met with HE Sheikh Saad Ed Deen Rafiq AlHariri, Former Prime Minister of Lebanon, at the George V hotel Four Seasons in Paris.

The “Alwaleed Bin Talal Humanitarian Foundation”, in Lebanon covers all the Lebanese humanitarian issues and provides medical, health and social assistance to orphanages, infirmaries, the disabled, and educational and cultivation assistance for the development of projects in the economical and agricultural sectors across all communities in Lebanon. The Foundation was awarded the Pontifical Medal by Pope Benedict XVI during a ceremony to mark the occasion held at the Vatican in 2008. The medal was in recognition of the achievement and efforts made by the Alwaleed Bin Talal Humanitarian Foundation for encouraging tolerance between the different religious faiths and social groups in Lebanon, and promoting religious dialogue. Moreover, the medal acknowledged the Foundation’s philanthropic activities and support to those in need regardless of their background and creed. Ms. El Solh personally received the medal from the Pope at the Vatican.

In 2010, HE President Michel Suleiman, Prince Alwaleed, HE Nabih Barri, Speaker of Parliament and Sheikh Saad inaugurated the Four Seasons Hotel, Beirut. The Hotel is managed by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, in which KHC, holds a 47.5% stake based in Canada.

Kingdom Holding Company investments in Lebanon include a 92% ownership in the Movenpick Beirut in the hotels sector, and investments in the financial sector through Citigroup. HRH’s private assets and investments in the media sector in Lebanon include Rotana and LBC, and various Lebanese newspapers. Prince Alwaleed also owns stakes in Al Nahar and Al Diyar newspapers.
