Composed of member companies, this alliance has been established to offer an alternative approach to the delivery of technology and information solutions to help both public and private healthcare providers transform their operations and improve patient care.
By bringing together the best technologies from companies that have a proven track record of success within healthcare IT, the Alliance represents a major new force in the industry and is making its debut at the HIMSS Middle East event in Manama, Bahrain from 5th–7th May. Members include: Ardentia, Clinical Solutions, Lawson Software, Perceptive Software, SciQuest, Sun Microsystems and System C.
Healthcare is undergoing unprecedented change in the Middle East, driven by the need to respond to changing demographics and disease patterns. As a result, infrastructure is experiencing new pressures and through government investment and growing private funding, is evolving fast to ensure effective patient care. With members already working in the region, the One Health Alliance offers decades of experience to help healthcare organisations meet these new challenges.
John Smith, Chairman, One Health Alliance, explained:
“The Alliance offers a collaborative approach to sourcing and managing healthcare technology, and collectively we offer a full range of solutions and services with unrivalled experience gained from implementations worldwide.”
“With so many issues and demands now being placed on healthcare providers one of the underlying objectives of the Alliance is to help ease this pressure by providing a ‘one-stop-shop’ single point of advice that takes away the risk and challenges of dealing with multiple suppliers,” he added.
“When commissioning an IT system, providers are faced with a time consuming and complex process. Having to deal with a number of different suppliers can magnify the issue. The One Health Alliance helps to effectively alleviate this problem so that the right technology can be delivered quickly and easily to improve services and cost efficiencies.”
Areas of healthcare IT expertise provided by the Alliance include: network infrastructure, hosting and managed services, clinical, IT and workflow consulting, procurement management, business information systems, electronic patient records, clinical information systems, document and workflow solutions, implementation, deployment and more.
Smith continued, “The next generation of healthcare provision in the Middle East will rely increasingly on information technology to enable the vital seamless flow of information between all entities involved in healthcare delivery – from hospitals to laboratories to insurers. All Alliance member products are based on industry standards and common interfaces, allowing interoperability between the solutions being offered. For the healthcare provider, this means a single set of connected solutions which removes the problem of integrating multiple systems.”
The One Health Alliance’s understanding of the issues and challenges facing the region, means it can deliver a powerful set of solutions to support the evolution of healthcare. By working in partnership, the Alliance aims to help all types of healthcare provider organisations improve clinical, operational and financial efficiency.
