Ooredoo and Paris Saint-Germain have kicked off their global community football coaching programme at a major event held in Qatar last week.
Ooredoo, and the powerhouse French football club that it sponsors, are joining forces to support the Paris Saint-Germain Academy by Ooredoo, which is run by Evolution Sports Academy. This is an innovative community coaching programme that creates life opportunities for youth across Ooredoo’s footprint in the Middle East, North Africa, and South East Asia.
As part of Ooredoo’s Summer of Sport, which supports a wide range of exciting global sporting events, the community coaching programme recently launched in Qatar’s capital of Doha at Doha College.
With Qatar set to host a series of high-profile international sporting events in the coming years, Ooredoo and Paris Saint-Germain launching the community coaching programme in the country further enhances Qatar’s status as a global sporting capital.

During the event in Qatar, Paris Saint-Germain’s top coaches Sacha Lizambard and Benjamin Houri taught football-related skills to more than 200 children. Coaches also led educational sessions on topics such as injury management, and match preparation.
In the coming months Ooredoo will roll out the Paris Saint-Germain Academy programme across its footprint, bringing this combination of football training and related skills to underserved communities and supporting youth in these communities.
The community coaching programme will run through 2014, and complements Ooredoo’s wide range of football sponsorships and programmes, along with Paris Saint-Germain’s dedication to reaching out to new Paris Saint-Germain fans in markets where youth enjoy football.
As Ooredoo continues to roll out its brand across its markets throughout 2014, the company is dedicated to creating new opportunities for young people and supporting professional football. Specifically, Ooredoo is sponsoring the Algerian national football team, and 10 of Tunisia’s top football teams; and serves as the official partner of the Myanmar Football Federation.
