The discussion pertaining to the launch of a pensions’ fund at the start of 2012 occurred after the presentation of the 2012 budget and agreement on it. The discussion focused on the specifics pertaining to the regulations of the fund and the content of the research conducted by an expert, which related to the setting of registration fees and to the forecast of financial flux in the coming years.
After thoroughly studying the issue – and taking into consideration the importance of the subject at hand and the financial revenue it brings and the moral support it gives to those who serve the profession for many years and come to their retirement age – the registration fees were set, as agreed almost unanimously.
Afterwards, President of the Order Claire Zablit gave a speech, in which she reaffirmed the attention to be given to the protection and the management of the financial assets, as well as adequate care and interest to be put towards the management of the fund’s investments, for the best interest of its members.
She insisted on the commitment to the culture of transparency, through adopting the highest levels of honesty and openness permitted within the law, while conserving “our responsibility as guardians of the funds’ finances”.
She noted that the Order will help Nurses who have permanent disability.
It is planned that the Order’s council, and the committee for the pensions’ fund, will take the adequate steps leading to the execution of the decisions of the General Meeting at the start of 2012.
