ORION Congress attracts first rate speakers to showcase future of tourism

United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, September 09 - 2008 @ 08:57

“Each year we bring together the world’s leading industry professionals, academics and educators to share opinions and knowledge at the Congress. We are delighted to have secured high calibre speakers for the event which definitely adds value for all participants. Among them is internationally acclaimed Max Hitchins who is also known as The Hospitality Doctor. He leads the Marketing panel. As a recognised authority in E-marketing in the hospitality industry we can certainly look forward to a thought provoking and dynamic session,”

said Mr Adam Sargeant, Regional Manager, ORION Hotel Schools.

“We anticipate the segment What’s New in Resourcing will be of much interest to the hoteliers of Dubai. Staffing is the hot topic on everyone’s lips. Where will we find the staff for all the planned hotel projects, not only in Dubai but also throughout the world? These are the types of issues the Congress aims to address. In addition, we have created a unique ‘speed dating’ exercise at morning and afternoon tea breaks whereby the hoteliers and recruiters can meet the hotel schools of the world,” he added.

While the ORION Congress has attracted several high profile international speakers, there is a strong contingency from Dubai including Mr Marc F Dardenne, CEO of Emaar Hotels and Resorts and Mr Suresh Menon, Senior Vice President, Atlantic The Palm.

Mr Dardenne joins the What’s New in Marketing session and will showcase Emaar’s approach to innovation within the hotel and resort industry with particular emphasis on developing ‘branded hotels’ such as the upcoming Armani Hotel in Dubai and future Armani Hotels, Resorts and Residences internationally.

Many delegates, particularly those from the United Arab Emirates are eager to hear Mr Menon speak about the recent challenges faced hiring the 4,000-plus team for Atlantis The Palm, Jumeirah and the solutions and innovations in sourcing human capital.

The ORION Congress is a not-to-be-missed event, which is open to all tourism professionals and students who can register online as well.

According to Mr Sargeant, the Congress is a must-attend event for: General Managers; Resident/Hotel Managers; Sales, Marketing & PR professionals; Procurement Managers; Human Resources Directors and anyone in the industry with a keen interest in the future.

Each of the key sessions throughout the day are presented by a session speaker and three panellists. To complete each session, delegate interaction is encouraged through question and answers.

The 5th Annual ORION Congress will be held on 11 October, 2008 at Atlantis, The Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
