Qatar Airways flight diverted to Cairo

Qatar Airways diverted its’ flight as a result of its’ top priority towards the safety and security of its’ passengers.

The Doha bound flight, carrying 92 passengers, was grounded in Cairo for approximately an hour and a half during which time the disturbed passenger was off-loaded for questioning by Egyptian Authorities. The Passenger, a Kuwaiti national, has been identified as 30-year old Hmoud Al Dabous. Mr. Dabous was accompanied by a friend who did not partake in the incident. The Qatar Airways flight continued its’ journey to Doha and landed safely and without incident at Doha International Airport at approximately 10:25hrs this morning.

“The safety and security of our passengers will always be our number one priority,” Said Chief Executive Officer Mr. Akbar Al Baker.

Qatar Airways is the first airline in the world to pass the new International Air Transport Associations (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA), passing with 100 percent compliance.
