Cardiovascular diseases claim more lives than any other disease whether in high or low-income countries. Research in Qatar has shown that one in 100 babies is born with heart disease, the most common forms of congenital problems being holes in heart, lack of valve formation, narrow arteries. This journal will provide a much-needed authoritative source and central forum on research and clinical practice.

Aswan Heart Centre Science and Practice Series encompasses, but is not limited to, the following areas; clinical cardiology, is chemic, valvular, congenital and myocardial disease, arrhythmias and pacing, heart failure, imaging, epidemiology, decision analysis, primary and secondary prevention and associated translational research.

The journal will publish in-depth reviews by international experts in the field and is based partly on material presented at the annual meetings bearing the same name. The journal will also publish original material and case studies judged to have important influence on practice in all aspects of cardiology.
