Qatari Business Women Forum hosts dinner on February 3rd to boost awareness of Qatari women in business

Qatar: Tuesday, January 27 - 2009 @ 14:15

H.H. Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned’s unwavering support of women’s causes has led the way for women to assert themselves professionally and raise their status in business and society, and increasingly viable opportunities are opening to them in which to flourish.

QBWF assists in this endeavor through a strong focus on fostering and developing the capabilities and talents of women entrepreneurs and professionals as they seek to establish themselves in the Qatari economy and society. QBWF provides training through conferences, workshops, seminars and one-on-one guidance to build skills such as forming business plans, personnel management, creating profit, seeking funding, strategic growth, building alliances and creating and maintaining forward business momentum.

Held under the auspices of H.H. Sheikha Al Anood Bin Khalifa Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Chairwoman of QBWF, the dinner will also detail QBWF’s recent collaboration with MENA Businesswomen’s Network (MENA BWN) and the aim of the new partnership. MENA BWN is a partnership between local businesswomen’s organizations across the Middle East and North Africa, Vital Voices Global Partnership and the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) of the U.S. State Department.

The goal of this partnership is to build a network of businesswomen in MENA in an effort to expand the number of women in business, increase the value of their businesses, advance the role of women in society and promote a regional culture of women’s entrepreneurship.

QBWF Vice-Chairwoman, Aisha Alfardan, said of the QBWF event:

“QBWF is constantly seeking opportunities for Qatari professional women through which they can expand upon their professional and individual talents and experiences. The Forum’s partnership with MENA BWN will introduce experienced businesswomen as good examples from our region and help expand Qatari women’s businesses and professional networks.”
