United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, April 14 - 2009 @ 16:35

WellPoint is Microsoft’s only energy enterprise software partner on its Dynamics AX platform.

The Qmena / WellPoint partnership, announced at Microsoft’s second annual Middle East and Africa Global Energy Forum at Dubai’s Madinat Jumeirah, will see Qmena hold the exclusive licenses to sell WellPoint’s Microsoft Dynamics AX solution set within the Middle East, North Africa and India.

Qmena is the first company to bring WellPoint’s global software solutions, which are used by over 450 companies worldwide, to the Middle East, North African and Indian regions.

Through the partnership, Qmena will facilitate the local oil and gas industry through the provision of WellPoint’s premier software and related services for managing critical operations within the energy industry, including Oil and Gas, Mining, Utilities and Petro Chemicals.

Miles Walker, CEO of Qmena said, “We are delighted to be partnering with WellPoint to bring their dynamic software solution to the Mena region. The WellPoint product is used by major companies worldwide and has already proved to be a huge success. We are proud to be able to bring it to such an important region for the oil and gas industry as the Middle East and have no doubt that it will prove invaluable in this market.”

Richard Slack, CEO of WellPoint Systems added, “This new partnership with UAE-based Qmena is a great platform for WellPoint to reach the Middle East market. With the support of Qmena, WellPoint can provide comprehensive local support and services to its regional customers.”

There are three main WellPoint Microsoft Dynamics AX-based solutions that Qmena holds the license for in the Middle East region. These are: Energy Financial Management (EFM), with the purpose of automating the Joint Venture billing process; Energy Broker (ENB) can be used to manage the production forecasting and the contract functionality; Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) is used to manage assets ranging from drilling rigs and pipelines to facilities and moving vehicles.
