In fact, India was one of the few countries in the world that were not affected from the worldwide economic crisis. Nevertheless, Indian companies have found the Middle Eastern market after the global economic crisis, to be the most lucrative market in the world. Therefore, several Indian companies have extended their activities in the Middle Eastern region.
RAD Internationals has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the delegation from the Iraqi government for three projects: Cement Plant with production capacity of 2 million tons per year, 500 Megawatts Power Plant, and a 5000 apartment units housing project.
The MoU was signed in Damascus, Syria in RAD Internationals’ branch office on June 11, 2009, by Group Director Mr. Mohinder Anand and Middle East Director Mr. Hamoudi Al-Assaf.
The final contracts for these projects will be signed in India during the visit of the Iraqi delegation to India during mid-July 2009.
RAD Internationals is one of the pioneering Indian companies for infrastructure development and it is currently the only Indian company that has been approved by the Iraqi government for infrastructure projects. RAD Internationals has been recently awarded contracts in Russia, Kuwait, and Oman, and are currently in final discussions with the Syrian government for constructing a 600 Megawatt power plant in Syria.
“The end of the Iraq war, the current stable situation in Iraq, and the country’s huge need of infrastructure projects, makes us confident to sign billions of dollars worth of contracts in Iraq,” expresses steel Tycoon Mohinder Anand, Group Director of RAD Internationals, who has showed remarkable interest in expanding his contracting in the Middle east and especially in Iraq.
