UNB selects Raqmiyat for banking solution

“Having an aggressive plan related to card issuing and acquiring business under dynamic market and technology trends like the dominance of EMV technology and several security and technology enhancements imposed by VISA and MasterCard, we had to convert to a state-of-the-art solution that could enable us to stay in control of these ever-growing challenges.” said Brian West, Head of ITD, Union National Bank. “Raqmiyat’s solution from SLMsoft had a proven track record which ensures us business continuity and compliance with modern technology. Union National Bank is a major issuer of credit and debit cards in the UAE. The bank is running one of the largest networks of ATMs and deposit machines in the country. Expansion plans in terms of number of cards and terminals are impressive. Also, innovative conversion to state-of-the-art products in card business will take place involving enhanced functionality and services to clients.

The project involves migration to ESP/Link Comprehensive Card Solution CCS as the primary card management platform for all the range of products issued by UNB. CCS has a proven track record in managing sophisticated card product profiles in large volumes with major financial institutions worldwide. ESP/LINK Financial Transaction Solution FTS will be the backbone e-Payment switch driving ATMs, Deposit Machines and enabling connectivity to UNB different back office systems and delivery channels including UNINET Internet banking, SMS and phone banking. It will also provide connectivity and settlement with local, regional and international payment networks like UAESWITCH, VISA and MasterCard.
