At a signing ceremony held in the capital, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Atiq Al Falahi, Secretary General, UAE Red Crescent Authority and Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Managing Director of Burjeel Hospital signed the MOU.
As part of the MoU, Burjeel Hospital will not only provide medical services to needy patients nominated by the UAE’s Red Crescent Authority, but will also support the authority’s programs on disease awareness, screening and training of volunteers. The hospital will provide doctors, nurses and technicians to support these programs.
Red Crescent will identify individuals and collaborate with charitable organisations across the region to nominate patients who are in need of medical treatment. His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Atiq Al Falahi, Secretary General, UAE Red Crescent Authority said “We recognize and appreciate Burjeel Hospital’s ongoing humanitarian activities and are particularly grateful for their support in providing the needy with much needed medical treatment. It greatly helps strengthen our role to improve the lives of the less fortunate across the region.”
“We look forward to extending our relationship with the hospital to work in other areas and hope that more entities, both in public and private sectors support our cause”, H.E. Al Falahi added.
Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Managing Director of Burjeel Hospital, commented, “Our MOU with Red Crescent reiterates the hospital’s commitment to adopting humanitarian initiatives that raise the standard of quality health-care in the country and benefit the community we serve.”
Dr Vayalil added, “The hospital is keen on allocating its resources, international expertise and state-of-the-art equipment to serve such initiatives.”
The MoU is valid for one year from the date of its signing.
